have you ever dropped your jaw at the moment you open your fridge door?
haha i guess its very obvious in this pic... you can see how wrinkled the skin of these blueberries are! i cant remember how long i have stocked them up in the fridge but my initial intention was to make some blueberry muffins. sigh... i guess if i put them into the muffins, i wont be doing them any justice!
and so.... i decided to whip them into some steam cakes! haha actually i am a steam cake lover. i love plain steam cakes best as its simple, sweet and makes the best breakfast or munchie. i dont have any recipe to follow strictly coz its a recipe remembered by heart. i remembered times when my mother will whip this up whenever she feels like making something for us. she used to sprinkle some milo powder over and man... its a ooooooomilicious kick! =D
one thing bout steam cake is... you can add anything you like into it. be it chocolate, raisins or cherries it will just come out fine. but the most important thing is, you have to make sure the eggs are whipped till reeeeeeeal stiff, like the picture up there.
so in order to get rid off the wrinkled blueberries, i added them into the steam cakes! haha i guess this is the best way to use the berries... i dont want to bake them and add up getting dried blueberry raisins. so yeap after spooning them into the muffin cups, they are sent into the steamer!
see how simple and plain they are?
this steam cakes taste reeeeeeeeeeally yummy! its my first time trying out this combination and i thought it wasn't too bad! hmm think besides milo, i now have another alternative for steam cakes =)
